A New Mexico nonprofit in formation, started by people who run local technology communities.
The Santa Fe Center for Excellence in Software Development promotes excellence in software development and educates the public of northern New Mexico, of all ages, about emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence. Through seminars, talks, hackathons, contests, bootcamps and other hands-on programs, it helps people understand these technologies, use them safely and responsibly, and build strong software development skills.
Artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies are changing how we work, learn, and stay connected. For many people, that change feels fast, confusing, or even frightening.
We believe understanding grows from welcoming, hands-on experiences, and that strong software development skills open doors for people of every age. So we bring people together to learn, to ask questions, and to build.
We explain emerging technology in plain language, without jargon.
We help people use new tools safely, with good judgment and respect for others.
We promote excellence in software development: building things well, not just quickly.
Our programs are open to the public, of all ages, across northern New Mexico.
SFCESD grew out of local technology communities organized by our founder, Rip Ryness. Those groups are still the best place to meet us and hear about events.
