Starting first

Seminars & talks

Our first programs are public seminars and talks for anyone curious about emerging technology, or a little worried about it. We explain how these tools work, what they can and cannot do, and how to use them safely and responsibly, without jargon and without judgment.

Topics we plan to cover

  • What AI is, what it is not, and how it actually works
  • Using AI tools safely: privacy, scams, and deepfakes
  • Practical ways AI can help at work, at school, and at home
  • Open questions and answers, where no question is too basic

Hackathons

Hackathons turn curiosity into something real. Small teams take on a shared challenge, build working software together, and show it off at the end. They are a hands-on way to learn from each other and to practice building well, not just building fast.

What to expect

  • Small teams working on a shared challenge
  • A welcome for first-timers and experienced developers alike
  • Demos at the end so everyone sees what was built

Contests

Contests give people a reason to stretch. Participants take on a defined challenge and are recognized for craft, creativity, and the responsible use of technology, in a format that is friendly to newcomers and rewarding for experts.

What to expect

  • Challenges designed for different ages and skill levels
  • Clear judging criteria shared in advance
  • Recognition for craft, creativity, and responsible design

Coming next

Bootcamps

Bootcamps go deeper. Participants build real projects, get feedback on their work, and learn the habits that separate good software from great software, so the skills they gain are ones they can keep using.

What to expect

  • Learning by building real projects
  • Core practices of excellent software: testing, version control, and code review
  • Feedback on your work as you go
